The Tony Street Builders Invitation 32

 

The cream of the crown green bowling scene are to be seen at Lune Road Bowling Club, Lancaster, LA1 5QU, on Saturday August 21st from 10.00am onwards. The Tony Street Builders Invitation 32 offers a prize fund of £2600.00 making it one of the most important one day events in the crown green calendar. Once again, Tony Street Builders of Cleveleys are the main sponsors of the event.

 

The field includes the current top ranked bowlers in the game, such as Gary Ellis, Graeme Wilson, Andrew Cairns, Simon Coupe, Ian Nicholson, Martin Gilpin and Lee Lawton, together with some all time greats, such as Brian Duncan, Noel Burrows, Tommy Johnstone, Glynn Cookson and Bob Hitchen. The younger bowlers are represented in the form of Wayne Ditchfield and Jonathan Copeland. The Fylde area is well represented with Michael Leach, Paul Wilson and James Grimston all competing on the day.

 

The venue offers fantastic facilities with ample parking, good viewing, home made food served all day and a barbecue, club open all day for beer and refreshments and a bookmaker present. Lune Road bowling club shares it’s grounds with Lancaster Cricket Club. There will be a match in progress also on the day. The green is very easy to find and close to the town centre. Enter the city centre and head for the bus station. Turn left into St. Georges Quay and Lune Road is on the left.
